Olaf (Meaning: Ancestral Heritage)

Image
Hello! Before I begin, I have an announcement. I've moved my site to another platform, and you can read my new posts there. Here's where you can read the rest of my work: https://3mmovieproductions.wixsite.com/maximiliangreatest/blog New platforms aside, I am going to write about a man who discovered a mystery right here in my current hometown. As always, his name has just about everything to do with his life. Olaf Opsjon (Meaning; Ancestral Heritage of Rich Favor) was a professor that lived in Spokane Washington, who made a controversial discovery on a boulder of lava sitting at the base of rock cliffs. People drive by the boulders today, unaware of the secrets they hide. What was this secret? Well, according to Olaf, Viking Runes. Yes, as strange as it is, the professor believed that ancient Vikings had come to Spokane in the year 1010 A.D, and left a message telling of a terrible battle.  There had been a band of 24 men, and seven woman, and one babe. They found a...

Christina (Meaning: Follower of Christ)

Image
Hello everybody! Well, it finally happened! I'm a "public school kid!" I've been homeschooled for all of my life, but now I'm going to a school to learn Graphic Design. Going to school is an interesting experience, seeing how the world of school kids are. Being homeschooled, I have a very different outlook on life than a lot of people, but never has the contrast showed more than in my new school. I never swear, and yet swear words are rampant in today's classrooms! School is different in so many ways from my homeschooled life. I never tire of the things I learn and observe. On the learning side of my schooldays, it's been really amazing, and I've already learned a lot, thanks to my amazing teacher, Christina, who I am going to talk about today, among other people, and their names. Christina (Meaning: Follower of Christ), (who goes by Chris in the classroom), is the teacher of the Graphic Design program I am taking. She is a great teacher and i...

Madison (Meaning: Daughter of a Warrior)

Image
Hello everybody! Okay, here it goes! Today is the day for my sister, the start for a string of birthdays in my life. You see, all of my immediate family was born in February. My sister's is today, my brother's in a week or so, and my mother the day after that. It's something of a joke in my family, because I was the only one born in August. So, it's going to be an adventure writing about my family, though not for lack of inspiration. My sister's name is Madison (Meaning; Daughter of a Warrior), and that meaning is perfect for her. She never gives up, and will always forge forward. She is very good at creating, and always has the gusto to finish it. She's a great person, to be sure, and one who isn't going to stop doing something just because it's hard to do. She is ridiculously creative, and talented with everything she does. From creating Fairy Dolls to folding paper flowers, she is also great at getting the ideas in her head out into the world...

Kaspar (Meaning; Keeper of the Treasure)

Image
Hello Everyone! Today I am going to write about the enigma that was Kaspar Hauser (Meaning; House of the Keeper of the Treasure), and my thoughts about him and his meaning. I only recently found out the sad story of Kaspar, and it inspired me to write about the unfortunate life of this young man.  The story starts on the 26th of May, 1828 in Nuremburg Germany. A young teenager stumbled onto the streets of the town, a confused look on his young face. After he got into town, a local shoemaker, Weichmann (Meaning; Man of War) noticed him, and the boy held out a letter, addressed to the local Captain, Von Wessenig. It told a part of Kaspar's story, that he had been placed in the care of the letters writer on the 7th of October 1812, and that the boy had been kept inside the caretaker's house all his life. It ended with a dire challenge; Train him, or if he could not, hang him. A second letter was in the envelope, apparently from Hauser's mother. His father was dead...

Noelle (Meaning; Birth of God)

Image
Merry Christmas everyone! Well, December is now underway and the Christmas season is in full swing. I've had a hard time finding a name for a Christmas post, but I think I've got it. If you haven't guessed, Noelle is the name I'm writing about today. For me, Noelle is special because without the last L and E it is, in fact, an old name for Christmas (Meaning; Christ's Mass) itself. In my mind, Noelle has a more beautiful meaning than Christmas, which is a bland Christ's Mass. As a name, Noelle has a grace and peaceful sense to it. It has, in short, the spirit of Christmas within its simplicity. The meaning for this name is basically the meaning of Christmas. It's beautiful in a way I find attractive. You don't often run into this name, as beautiful and frank as Grace (Meaning; Graceful) or Joy (Meaning; Joyful), that is so unused.  I have been researching old Christmas traditions and carols, and I've found lots of interesting things. There a...

Christie (Meaning; Brave Grace)

Image
Hello everybody! Today I am going to write about a friend of my family and I. Her name is Christie Pierce (Meaning; Brave and Trustworthy ), and she runs a company named FriendChips. Christie lives with her husband Paul (Meaning; Humble) in a sort of oasis in the middle of the wheat fields, and in this place lives a little band of Chipmunks who Christie has named the "Chippies." Christie has befriended them, and the two groups have worked out to be an amazing team. Paul makes miniature scenes for Christie, and she places them outside. With a lot of patience (and treats!) Christie and the chipmunks produce a picture that is simply amazing. When you walk into Christie's booth at her craft shows, suddenly, chipmunks knit blankets, play ball, and throw parties. To really understand what I mean, check out her website. Her work is simply stunning! formingfriendchips.com For my family and I, Christie is a mentor. We make Fairies, Fairy houses, and much more for our b...

Samhain (Meaning; End of the Harvest)

Image
Hello everyone! It's a little late, but I though I'd do a post about a name pertaining to Halloween this year. That name is Samhain (Meaning; End of the Harvest). This name's meaning is the essence of the month of October, the last month of Harvest. Now, I haven't met any Samhains, and I'm sure you haven't either. The name is actually a girl's name, and began with the ancient Celts. Here's one reason I wouldn't want to be named Samhain; It's Halloween's original name. Yes, Samhain is the name of Halloween. It's so connected with Halloween, people with the fear of Halloween have what is called Samhainopobia. And yes, that's a real thing. Now, I know that I haven't said much good about this name, but it does have a nice meaning, "End of Harvest." That meaning may seem to be horribe, as the end of harvest was always a bad thing, but in my minds eye, it may be the end of the harvest, but it is the beginning of winte...
