Madison (Meaning: Daughter of a Warrior)

Hello everybody!

Okay, here it goes! Today is the day for my sister, the start for a string of birthdays in my life. You see, all of my immediate family was born in February. My sister's is today, my brother's in a week or so, and my mother the day after that. It's something of a joke in my family, because I was the only one born in August. So, it's going to be an adventure writing about my family, though not for lack of inspiration.

My sister's name is Madison (Meaning; Daughter of a Warrior), and that meaning is perfect for her. She never gives up, and will always forge forward. She is very good at creating, and always has the gusto to finish it. She's a great person, to be sure, and one who isn't going to stop doing something just because it's hard to do.

She is ridiculously creative, and talented with everything she does. From creating Fairy Dolls to folding paper flowers, she is also great at getting the ideas in her head out into the world. And the thing is, she's successful. Everyone who takes a look at her fairies says something along the lines of "So Cute!" Her paper flowers on Etsy are selling within days of being listed. They are as beautiful as Madison is. I am truly lucky to have her in my life.

As for the name Madison...

Madison was originally a boy's name, as the -son that it ends with denotes. Traditionally, it means "Son of a Warrior," but having my sister with that name has caused me to rethink that meaning, so I refer to the meaning as Daughter of a warrior. It's more popular as a girl's name anyway! The name itself  comes from England, although it started out with two D's. I think this name is one for a strong person, a name for those who will succeed. The Madison's of the world are smart, headstrong people. They accomplish things. And that, I believe, shows the warrior part of them. They don't give up, or give in, they do. They accomplish. At the very least, that's what I see in my sister. Thanks for being such a great sister Madison!
