Robert (Meaning; Shining with Fame)

"The 'Valley of the Moon' lies in a region literally combed with underground caves and passages, bewildering in their immensity, mystifying in their variety of strange formations, where there are natural bridges as yet unknown to geographers, where bear tracks hundreds of years old may be traced for miles across cinder flats. Here are craters of dormant volcanoes half a mile wide and seemingly bottomless, huge cups in which the five-story Owyhee hotel might be placed to resemble a lone sugar loaf in a huge bowl. Here are strange ice caves with stalactites and ice-encrusted walls, caves that contain as much ice in the middle of August as they do in the winter." - Robert Limmel

Hello!

Today I am going to write about a man who was one of the first to recognize one of our national parks. His name was Robert Limbert (Meaning; Shining with Fame across the Land ), and the national park was the Craters of the Moon. My family and I went on a wonderful vacation to Sun Valley recently, and one of our stops there was the Craters of the Moon. It is truly a unique place, and one that I will not be forgetting soon. It is breathtaking, sometimes literally, like on the "Splatter Cone" where the wind was so strong it was hard to breath on parts, and beautiful in a strange way like in the Devil's Vineyard, where trees and shrubs have found life in-between the hard rocks of the ancient lava fields.
All of these places were named, at least to my knowledge, by Robert Limbert. He set out with a team of men and a dog on a 18 day, 80 mile journey across the lava fields. In that time he saw that the Craters of the Moon was not the speed bump that it had been considered by the settlers that drove cattle across the prairie. He was in awe of the wonder of this place, and named all the areas accordingly. There is the Bridge of Tears, on a cave far away from the trails that dot the park now, Vermillion Canyon, Echo Crater, Amphitheater Cave, and many other places. These names, obviously added to the mystery of the Craters. Robert ended up convincing Calvin Coolidge to designate it a National Park, the dedication ceremony for it bringing in 1,500 people across gravel roads to attend.

About the name Robert though. This German name was the perfect for Robert Limbert. He definitely  shone with fame. Even before he discovered the wonder in the desolate black fields that everyone else shunned, he was a famous cowboy of the area. He definitely fulfilled the name he was given. That is the norm for people named Robert. Famous Roberts, from Robert F Kennedy (Meaning; Protected Head Shining with Fame), to Robert Ballard (Meaning Shining Mightily with Fame) are people we still know today. There are many people named Robert in this world. I don't know every single one of them, but I can tell that Roberts do great things. To shine with fame doesn't mean you will be known by everyone. The definition of shining is "giving out or reflecting bright light" and "brilliant or excellent in something". And the Robert that "discovered" the Craters of the Moon shows that.

Are you named Robert? Do you know someone named Robert? Share this with them. What do you think of the name Robert? What does this name mean to you? You are a brilliant person Robert. There are many who shine through the years, but you are the Robert now. You are the next to shine with fame. And I hope you won't shy away from that. You shine with fame. Celebrate this great and amazing name with me, and leave a comment below about this name and what it means to you. Let us celebrate your unique meaning!

Until another name pops up!
